Hi there,
Thanks very much indeed for this post, what a day indeed for CF, reading the accounts.....curious to read there of "HMIS" and clearly Asian service men, is that His Majesty's Indian Service?... I have posted before, visited Ostend for Ostend at Anchor and seen the memorial there...., rest in piece if I may say so, Johnk |

HMIS Cheetah was an Indian Naval base that had a CF contingent. AB Singh was a casualty that died coincidentally on this tragic date.
HDML 1062 was lost by Japanese gunfire on the 16th 1942 - barely a month after building with several casualties over following days. |
