This MTB was a rather special boat as she was the first British Power Boat Co 71.5ft type to be built as an MTB (MKVI), i.e. with a short Admiralty bridge instead of the longer streamlined deckhouse (MKV). She was originally designated MGB 123 and later became MTB 446. There is a photo of her here;
DSMs were awarded to two of her crew, AB H.L. Bray and Sto R.B. Finch.
The boat apparently survived the war, nothing further I'm afraid. Edited by Christian - 13 August 2008 at 11:20pm |

My father frederick weldon served on mtb 446 as a torpedo rating. I met with the skipper who remembered my dad. I also met Jack Warnes who was the engineer. My dad's best mate was Blood Reid who lived in Wisbech I met with his son Lawrence. I have a photograph of 446 undergoing sea trials at Fort William and one of the crew which I think was taken at felixstowe or ipswich.
