Topic: MY OLD CABIN CRUISERPosted: 10 February 2010 at 2:37pm |

bought an old cabin cruiser about a year ago from grimsby marina and spent last summer working on her , i was told she had a bit of history behind her which made the project all the more appealing .. Basically i was told she was a double skinned diaganol hardwood hulled MGB from the second world war , apparentely the guy had done alot of work on the hull and had discovered machine gun bullet holes peppering the woodwork etc .
the reason ive decided to post a message on this forum was a result of seeing the news item regarding MGB 81's restoration and wondered if mines for the same era etc .
If she is , not sure im up to the task to be honest
any info would be appreciated cheers rob

Bilge keels? Old ship boat? Does she have any lifting eyes inside possibly directly under a hatch?

Only yield when you must, never "give up the ship," but fight on to the last "with a stiff upper lip!"

all i know regarding the history is what the previous owner told me , he personally brought it up from clacton on sea to grimsby under the steam of the old Perkins 4236 .
He also informed me that it used to have twin Detroit engines in it at one time and there is some mounting brackets inside which im not sure about .. he said they where gun mounts but i guess they could be lifting brackets .
Shes 27 ft in length and 9 ft beam or there abouts and of double skinned diagonal hardwood its obvious she was built for speed and is very old ..
