My father Sgt Leonard Cater (T/93356) was a Waterman skippering motorboats from 1940-1945. He was badly injured at the Dieppe Raid during the Berneval landings by 3 and 10 Cdos. He later took part in numerous operations across the Mediterranean and Adriatic with 247 Motorboat Company. He and his unit are commemorated at the ASFMG in the National Memorial Arboretum (ASFMG Garden 2, Memorial 20). I intend to publish the stories of Len and his NCO comrades as an audiobook in collaboration with the Royal Logistics Corps Museum, ASFMG and other stakeholders.
I am trying to trace the descendants of the following personnel from RASC 2 Coy, who were in hospital along with Len in 1943: Pte C.W. McLean (T/2816596) Sgt C. Jefferson-Hope (T/232347) Cpl L. Alden (T/228030) Pte W.H. Collins (T127617) Dvr V. Satchell (T/116426) Any accounts of life in 247 Coy in WW2 would be very welcome. All help will be gratefully acknowledged in the book, if and when it is published. Best wishes John Cater
