Can anyone provide me with information on the "Perkasa Class" ? I believe it was a gas turbine powered boat.

Hello Earl,

P150 Perkasa' (Valiant) was one of 4 boats built for the Malaysian Navy by Messrs Vosper Ltd. They were a developement of the British 'Brave' class but using the build methods used in the boat 'Ferocity'. Powered by 3 RR Proteus Gas Turbine Engines giving 54 kts - they had 2 GM Diesels on the wing shafts for cruising (10 kts) and 2 Rover Gas Turbines for power generation.

The other 3 members of this class were PI52 'Gempita' (Thunderer), P151 'Handalan' (Reliant), P153 Pendekar' (Champion).

Regards
