I am not sure if this is the right place to put this post. If not no doubt someone more knowledgable than I will tell me but it is about PARTS. Its just that if one makes the assumption that one has or can aquire the appropriate boat and restor it to WW2 appearance, where would you buy de-activated weapons. After all you can hardly walk into the local gunsmiths and buy an Orelikon or Lewis gun.

And are these things expensive, on the assumption that you can buy them in the first place?

Deactivated weapons are legal if they have the accompanying prof-house cert and widely available within the UK. There are many specialist dealers and a good place to start your search would be a web site called MILWEB. If you put that one word into google or MSN you will find it straight away. I have all the correct weapons (.30 cal, Bren and SMLE's etc for my 1942 Humber armoured car and correct riders sten gun and side arms for my BSA M20 dispach bike, all are UK legal de-acks. A de-ack lewis gun will cost you a few hundred quid but will be easy enough and legal to get hold of....what the hell its only money! Don't forget though, make realy very sure it's a legal de-ack before you buy it. Dodgy ones do occasionally turn up and the stretch, if you got your collar felt would be a long one. all the best, Alex.

Don,

For your engines try http://www.ljacksonandco.com/ who seem to do just about every engine from landrover to main battle tank. You would of course have to marinise it yourself.

If you find anything with them they are only about 5 miles away. transport should be no problem. Trailer and R. Rover avaliable.
