HDML restoration

   We bought an HDML around 16 years ago, which was last used as a houseboat, with the good intentions of restoring her. A lot of work was done in the first few years but thanks to serious medical problems work has stopped completely and now she is in danger of just rotting away into the river, or ending up like HDML 1130 "Devon Princess".
Does anybody know of any interested party  capable of taking on a boat of this sort. It's sad to see her deteriorating and not be capable of completing the work.

	Hi Neil I too have a HDML,she hit the rocks off Dartmouth 2002, probably the boat will be back in the water this summer:) how far away from Devon are you? I would love to see your vessel,you never know She maybe some interest to us, could you give us some Imfo on her please if you'd like to see some photos of our's please let us know. Regards Phil.

	Hello Phil Yours wouldn't by any chance be Pride Of The Dart would it?She too hit rocks that year in that area and I was informed by the lady at Western Lady ferry co (who used to operate her) that she had been broken up as although the damage was slight there was some rot found aft.In fact I gave this info to Alan at The Medusa Trust who has updated his survivors list to reflect this.Please post a few recent pics of her.My dad runs ex ML1301 as M.Y. Gibel-Tarik, see pics on my photogallery.

	Hi, Pride of the Dart (or Pod as we used to call her). Another boat I have fond memories of from the more prosperous days of the Western Lady Ferry Service. I was sorry to hear about her little mishap but glad to hear it didn't lead to her complete demise. Does she still have the Daiwoo diesels? I remember the exhausts made a rather distinctive gurgling sound as the sea-water side of the cooling system pumped out in fits and bursts. No mistaking her even in the dark. Regards, Steve.

	Hi Steve Nice to hear from you ,yes she does still have the daiwoos 160 hp each they were fitted 2001 december she also had new rudders,starboared shaft , A bracket and propellor. Since the incident July 2002 the insurance spent alot of money insuring the engines,gearboxes and gardener generator were stripped and rebuilt and run several times new oil and filters between each re-run. Since August 2002 she has sat until June 2005.A new shaft for the port sideis ready for installation, the a bracket and propellor port side has been serviced.all engines are on the button or in the gardeners case on the handle.Most repairs are getting there, things look very positive.
