If only the Nuoli had smaller engines she could be a donor for MASB '32, could put the guns and other kit on too. I am still looking for two 400hp-500hp lumps, I recon I'll be wanting them by this time next year (fingers crossed) I will consider whole boats....

Hi Coaster, have a look in the Torpedo Boats section, there is a topic on the Nuoli there, she is a runner but the owners are not too sure what to do with her! Clive are her engines too big? They fit nicely into a Russian tank so I guess they are fairly compact....I had an interesting experience this weekend with an old Russian diesel...started up a 50 year old Russian tractor that had been sitting in my girlfriends barn for 4 years..just put a new battery on sussed out the decompression levers and hey presto she started..(the tractor that is Any more pics of 32 yet?

I thought perhaps 1200 hp on each shaft may send '32 into orbit (or the bottom of the sea) she probably only needs 1200hp in total.. Re progress, this is a sore point, she pretty much looks the same as she did in Southampton, she is in the same posititon in Newsons shed since 13th August as in the picture on Newsons website. Good news is she is not taking on any water! |

Hi Clive Copied from post on Torpedo Boat Section 3× Model V-55 12-cylinder watercooled diesel; 390 kW (520 hp) Could be the power you are after, may be worth having a look at these guys http://www.tanksforsale.co.uk/Company_details_tanksforsale.h tm Sorry to hear ref progress, thought about having some sort of "MASB32 open day" at Newsons for fund raising etc? Maybe you could charge us fellow forumittes a small fee to have a look over her? Could take in MTB102 as well? Obviously not implying money woes but I guess "every little helps! Just a thought. |

Mark, this is what I saw, http://commercial.apolloduck.com/listings.phtml?next=10& sort=0&fx=GBP&limit=10&cid=23 As you say, 'every little helps'. Problem is as I am not a charity or a trust if I started 'shaking a tin' most people would quickly tell me to p*** off (or worse!). I would happily have an open day or let people have a look round her (not too exciting as she is a bare hull) but if I did I would urge you all to put your money in the direction of MTB 102. Richard works very hard to keep her going (as well as running a business) but there is never enough to do everything which needs doing. When progress starts on '32 we should see some really good photos. Edited by clive |

Could be done quite easily, but not in September. If there is interest let me know and we will organise a weekend in conjunction with Newsons. Richard. Edited by Magic Fingers |

I suppose my posts could be open to interpretation, but as Keith says the delay is no fault of theirs, I think it may be prudent at this time not to mention where the problem lies.
