The haulage company have confirmed that everything is on for Friday, the low loader is back in the country. The Police have asked that we do the move a little later than planned so she will move at 10am from Preston. She should be at her new home around noon.
She has dried out a huge amount over the last couple of weeks, various planks have popped and I've removed a lot of the old timber that was inside, which will also make her lighter for the tow. The BBC are coming to interview us so you might see us and her on the TV in the evening, BBC Radio Lancashire are interviewing me tomorrow morning for their drive time show, she really does seem to crate a following. There was a small article in classic boat April edition in their boat yard section, they have said they might do a larger spread later in the year. I'll post photos over the weekend. I have updated the website and included a photo gallery, plus a bit more info about her. The site seems to be a little slow at the moment, but will get onto the isp if it continues. I am in the process of sorting the blog out on the site, which I'll use to chart the restoration. |

The move went well, even though it was lashing down.

Congratulations Paul!
Awesome website/blog etc. ![]() My project is half the size and hopefully I can emulate your progress,- recording for all to see. Early days yet and the research goes on, and on, and on ad infinitum ad nauseum. Still, having watched your progress I am forewarned of what is to come. One slight departure is that I have to transport my boat across open water before I can get her to the repair yard. We will see what Kiwi ingenuity can come up with! ![]() Keep the pics and narrative coming please. Most informative. cheers aye, Arthur

Good luck with your project as well, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures etc of her progress. The research is the biggest time consumer, but the work won't be quick either. Things turned around for us when we managed to get copies of some of the builders plans from the Grenwich Maritime Museum in Grenwich, London. Although its not a complete set of plans the information contained in gives us everything we need to rebuild her and if you haven't managed to locate anything similar its worth trying to track a set down for your boat.
I'll follow your restoration with interest and I'm sure we'll be swapping ideas/sharing problems. |
