Painting Of WWI Unidentified Torpedo Boats

I found this old oil-on-canvas painting in a loft of a house clearance,, it's signed but the signature is hard to read? I did some research on the canvas maker and the canvas makers mark on the back dates this to before 1917 as the postcode for the makers address changed to "W1" instead of "W" in 1917 so this must be a WWI era painting of the period,, but I don't reconise the small fast boats with the torpedo's on the side? they don't look like ones I have seen of WWI, the ships look like the old Dreadnoughts to me as I can see the front guns!! it's a real cool painting done in the impressionist style with great use of colour..
