2009 will be the 65th anniversary of D-Day (if my maths are correct)

Does anyone know if it is due to be 'celebrated' officially, and if so how?

Hi David,

 

Further to the above, saw on the box about a D day veteran who found he had a piece of shrapnel in his lung only recently! it mentioned the vets are going en mass for the last time next year, and are asking for government assitance to pay for the trip, quite rightly so.
