Just a few pictures of her when I was on her when she was Jonas Hanway. Not may pictures I'm afraid, it was a bit wet and rough! Force 7 I think, I was one of two cadets still able to report for duty as everyone else was being sick. LOL

I was indeed young. This was about 1993 I think.

Did you ever get that RIB Mr S? :p A nice Atlantic 21 (or was it an Artic?) would be a nice tender to Brightwater.

Hi there,  I have just purchased EX RN HMS EGERIA i am converting her into a house boat down at Wicormarine Portschester, happy to send you some photos from time to time, if you have anything your self or know anyone who does it would be great to chat and maybe meet onboard if you are down Portsmouth way.
She will be converted very sympathetically with keeping all original features and  working closely with National Historical Ships where she is now registered.
She will also be seaworthy so the option to take her out and show her off will be a must once painted back to all white like she was in her Royal Navy days.
I look forward to hearing from anyone.
Regards,
EGERIA

Hi there,

Just spotted this post, do look but missed this one, ex cadet myself and although not aboard at sea on the JH, did have a look round, interior very much like the old Ham class sweepers I was on in the RNXS, albiet briefly, dis-banded soon after I left. Good to know she is still going strong,  if you are ever down the River Medway, or transit to the Thames, do keep Chatham Marina in mind, not sure of her lenght, our lock is 25 metres, can do 30 at a push, by 8 metres....have an outer waiting pontoon as well, do call in advance though if wanted.

Glad she's not being left to rot somewhere, and that she will remain seaworthy. Good luck with the conversion, I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like when finished. Smile
