Hi Clive

Re. Phantom, interesting to see MTB 683 so early on in her post-war career, thanks. I had found another batch of h/b's, (see 1281.29) this time in Chiswick in 1951, there's a 70ft Vosper, a Fairmile B and a D, a Higgins MGB/HSTTL, a 60ft GSP and an ST.

Any progress with 32?

Kind regards, Christian.

theres a couple of RAF Pinnaces to be seen, long distance im afraid, in story number 69433. If im not much mistaken the port is Falmouth.

The main story is of that fine old 4 master 'Pamir', shame theres not more of those about nowadays

These old film clips are fantastic, I recon I could get no work done just about every day!!

Hi Christian,

progress with '32 was trying to locate superstructure plans, I have a set for a model and NMM has everything except MASB. I was trying to ascertain wether the front 'wheelhouse' part of any other HSL was the same as the MASB. Do you have any ideas?

With this I could copy another HSL wheelhouse and use the construction methods for the rear along the lines of the model MASB. I don't want to end up with a plywood 'box' which looks ok from just the outside.

Apart from that It is just a case of scheduling when she can be worked on and where the money is coming from, the scary part is the cost of engines but we have a little time to deal with that as yet!

just had another look at the Movietone site as they seem to be adding to it all the time..

Story 83/1 - its to do with BFBS, im afraid you'll have to wade through a lot of it and i don't know how to stop and rewind the story once it starts... but, theyre in all it glory, is 2753!!!

The funny thing is, I remember the recording and filming of that clip as I was onboard that day!!!!  ('54 was my boat so how the hell i managed to get sent over to '53 ive no idea)

Shame its all silent film

the clip can be found at 13.28  to 13.50
