pinnace class

hi all! im reserching the histroy of a particular ex naval pinnace, perhaps you could assist me?

known histroy: built to thornycroft design appearently on the clyde???

                      length 53feet

                     sold into private ownership in 1918

                     believed never commisioned as pinnance

                     cristened 'sunbeam'

                     teak carvel built on oak steamed frames

questions? did thornycroft have boats built on the clyde

                is there any list / design details of these boats

                is there any way of tracing the naval histoy without definate build registration
