the pics I've linked to underneath are of HMS Brave Borderer's launching at Vospers

Now, on the left of the pic you can just see the bow and part of the mast of an RTTL, its definitely an RTTL because the next pic shows the distinctive 3 legged mast and part of the after hull and raised engine room

HMS Brave Borderer was launched on 7th January 1958

So the question is.... which RTTL is that still in Vospers yard at that date?

I would suggest its 2758 onwards.

Any suggestions?

I've wondered that before, I seem to recall I came up with 2757.

'57 is shown as being in service from 1956 onwards and was on the strength of Alness in January 58 so unless she was back at Vospers for some reason i dont think its her Christian.

I'd suggest it was one that had been launched not long previously and was still fitting out..

having said that.......................... lol

I'm afraid I have to question the in-service date you mention, as all my sources seem to indicate she was taken on charge in January 1958 (I think perhaps you were fooled by the plaque at Hendon...).

Yes, I see your point Christian.... hmmmm
