Hi Simon,

Would love to have her for the BMPT collection, but the price will proably preclude that happening..?

I thought that when you lost the site all the artifacts etc went back to their owners?

Where are you now, i would love to visit again, was always a good day out.

PM me with an offer.

The alternative is if you can arrange a suitable display case i will let you display until she does sell? She's in the garage at the moment getting dusty and i dont want her to get knocked or broken.

Regards

Simon

Hello all.  I'm a new member of the forum but been a scale modeller for far more years then I care to remember ;-)  I'm about to depart from the tugboat scene and try my hand at something with more zip and chosen the Vosper RTTL 2757 (only because I have a few pics of her at Hendon!)  How reliable are Vic Smeed's drawings (MM plan # 530).  If they are off scale at all can anayone recommend a source of really accurate drawings and general arrangements details? I intend to make my model to either 1:15 or 1:20 scale but the size will be determined by what motor I finally decide on.  My sons tell me I am my worst enemy when it comes to scale detail so I'm looking to make something really authentic.  BTW, Donald's model of 2757 is truly awesome.  Thanks and regards.

Hello 'Coelacanth'

Welcome aboard shipmate. You have chosen to model a type of craft that has many supporters on this site and I am confident that you will find your answers here. Keep 'popping' back - meanwhile can you Post a picture of your 'efforts' so far? - maybe you can give regular updates on your progress as you get down to the modelling of RTTL 2757. Best of luck Rob.

Hi 'Coelacanth'

Nice to have you on board. Vic Smeeds drawing of 2753(Ithink) is as accurate as you will ever need. I can't recall if he shows the true frame shape or the flatter simpler shape for ply skinning.  I hold loads of drawings of the class and if you have any problems we like minded modellers will help in any way we can.

Regards

Donald

Thank you rafwebfoot and Pioneer,

I may have need to call on you when it comes to details of 2757.  In the interim this old coelacanth is desperately trying to complete his tugbotat 'magnum opus'.  I do have some pics of various models I've made but do you really want pics of tugs and other boats on this dedicated website?
Perhaps I could e-mail them to one of you and pass the buck as to what to show?
Regards,

Rob

Good day Donald et al,  I've just received the Vic Smeed plans and look forward to begin cutting and building.  I've decided on a 1:20 scale so that my ageing fingers have room to 'fiddle'! I have also received some photostats from RAF Hendon but they are to a small scale and not very clear so I may be shouting for help when it comes to detail stuff.
