Hi Dave, Jim,
I think that HSL145 should have her own Topic as this forum seems to be getting a good following! Cheers Don |

At Least this has some MTB info! Met a Guy I Know tonight and came clean about my new interest, Shocked when he told me he has owned one MTB, knows where a good MTB hull is in a Peterhead Boatyard and the Whereabouts of the old ST he once owned is abandoned in Dunoon (Near the Cot House Hotel in the old Quarry) He is very interested in the forum and will join when i give him the link. He works with the previous owner of the Balloch ST and will get us the pics of her in the water(and the owners son sking off her!). The Peterhead MTB (Class unknown as yet) had a cabin fire but Tam says the hull was fine as he saw her recently. His MTB was a PT boat (Again class unknown) Was used as a houseboat in the River Leven till about 20 years ago untill burned only the keel and lower hull remains! Pics to follow as soon as I Get them!

Up at Peterhead there has been a 41'6" ST hull for quite a while but I have been past it for several years to how it looked. I thing that it had a pair of 6354 engines in her and had had a modified deckhouse fitted, but this was removed and open to the weather. It was up at the boatbuilders (by a shed on the industrial estate on the North side of the harbour). I am interested to hear about the Dunoon ST and also the remnants of his old PT. If a bit of the Rock Elm has somehow survived then it is worth getting hold of. AndyS |

Please nobody get upset at my joke about thread hijacking , christ I'm only a newbie on here , but if we can get some practical support going , and pick one target at a time , it may be possible to do some good . If anyone is able to help out , then step in please . But at the moment we're still waiting for some info from the currently untraced owner Did someone say they knew where a couple of engines were ? |

Hi Andy I,m off on holiday for a week and will trip over to Dunoon to "Cot House Hotel" to take some pics,I know the area very well. The Pervious Owner Tam Grey is a piper in my TA unit, As for the PT,will check ovver the weekend she the remains are in the "Boat Hole" or otherwise called "the Pint " on the River Leven at Renton. there was a dock dug out and she was burned in that I have not been down for many years so dont know what is left. Pity about Peterhead, still Another ST! happy days. Pics to follow. Anymore on this I will put in "Where These Boats Are" I like the Idea that Trevera25 had about a general thread, that can be moved if its got substance its the way forward for investigating boats.
Regards Jim.

Hello trevera25 Yes a Moderator is watching. Your Thread Starter for the search of an abandoned MTB has developed - as is normal in ordinary conversation - to include other types. This may seem 'clumsy' but this a Forum 'for conversation of like minded individuals' and apart from 'banning' any language that might offend - there is no censorship. Keep on enjoying this Forum - it is only through the efforts of such as yourself - that it is showing the success it currently enjoys. Regards Ted |
