Thought Id do a little introductory here. Simple really, my grand father was career Canadian Navy. He served on an MTB. The wonders of the internet. Here is my grand father and his mates in 1944 on his Canadian Navy MTB:

Anyway, back when I was youngster in grade one in 1978. On Remembrance Day, schools held assemblies and we learned WWI and WWII history and veterans spoke at our schools. My elementary school was opened in 1921 near downtown Vancouver. We learned why it was named David Lloyd George, etc.

Even my Fathers Mother served as a Wren in England during the war. On both parents side, all males and some Women (like my Grand Mother) of age in the 1930's and 1940's are veterans of WWII. Christmas dinner growing up, we'd have a minimum of five or six veteran relatives over for dinner. Now I only have two great aunts left from that era.

Now Remembrance Day is a day off from school. The you millennial generation have no clue here about our WWII history. And why we should never forget! Not to be anti-American. But the bulk of history of WWI and II. My grand mothers father was a WWI veteran. Comes from America and they tend to ignore the Allies in their history, especially Canada's contribution.

I want to pass on the stuff I learned growing up from the people who lived it!
