Sorry Don, Fast Boats And Flying Boats gives the first (Oct 1940-Sept 1941) 41ft6" STs as batch ST 357-366 but no yard numbers are given. The second batch during the same period were ST 436-439, with yard numbers 1846-1849. I think it is therefore a safe guess to say she was one of the 357-366 batch, but which one. Perhaps rafwebfoot will know?

Don't despair, ST 358 from the same batch was identified somehow, if her yard number is known yours can be identified from that presumably. Congratulations on your new family member anyway! Even better she may be from the first batch, I can't wait to find out her history! ST 358; |

Don, Philip Simons says the following;
If Don has found 1762, then that makes her Seaplane Tender ST 365 |

Congratulations Don on the lastest addition to the fleet, I feel sure you'll do her justice, I'll be interested to see the photos.
Does anyone know any more about 358, her present wherabouts, she looks like she could do with some TLC in the photo, I'm really warming to the little ST's, must try to get an HDML first though! |

Thanks Christian/Philip. Very much appreciated.
Donald (RAFWebfoot) has sent some more data: "She was RAF. 365 a Mk.1 type on charge with the RAF on 12/07/1941. Converted to an RSL in the 1950s and struck off charge 16/01/1957. She as for sale at No. 1112 MCU Tayport in Feb. 1957." I've put a few photos at: www.rania.co.uk/ST365 Thanks Donald for the info. |

Looks good Don, hull timbers seem fair. Your 32 footer is looking superb! Have you found any service pictures of 365 yet? A new name? Yedaysar is my first goofy suggestion for 365 days in a year.

Hi Christian,
Frames are good - about 30 yards of planking to change. Just wave damage to unpainted timber over years really. They added a keel/beaching legs at some stage that I'll probably leave on her. She's huge compared to the '32 tender. Funnily enough I was removing a section of rubbing strake from the 32' and the hull is painted black underneath ( original rubbing strake from what I can tell). I expected that, like most boats of the time, she was seconded for the duration but black paint topsides under the rubbing strake seems curious. I think I've got a brace of 4236's/Borg Warner boxes for the 32'. Cheers |

Looking good Don, quite a nice collection there. Have to say I like the look of those beaching legs. Wonder if they will help keep her running in a straight line. Perhaps even make her faster? |
